GCNSSC provides volunteer opportunities for both individuals and groups:
All potential volunteers are invited to scheduled Orientation Meetings.
At our Orientation Meeting potential volunteers learn about special events and volunteer opportunities, have their questions answered, and express interest in specific projects.
Volunteers can choose to conduct regular workshops (on a weekly or bi-weekly basis) or to take part in established workshops.
We also offer weekend volunteer opportunities. This is a time when most of our individual volunteers can help out on various client and staff projects.
We support our volunteers with Q&A and feedback sessions where volunteers can discuss their experience and offer suggestions.
Calendars of upcoming events are posted for volunteers on a monthly basis.
Groups consist of 2 to 10 volunteers, but we do accommodate larger groups for bigger projects.
Following their orientation, volunteer groups tour our facility and then go to their chosen service area.
For Food Services volunteers, we can accommodate groups of up to five people (including supervisors).
Groups also have a Q&A a feedback sessions where volunteers can discuss their experience and offer suggestions.
Most group sessions take place Monday-Friday, but we can occasionally accommodate a weekend group.
A calendar of upcoming volunteer events is posted monthly.
Our Director of Development works with over one thousand volunteers annually. Volunteers come from schools, corporations, religious groups, and other non-profit organizations. GCNSSC is always looking for committed people to join our team of community volunteers. We know you have something to offer!
